Fall Fun at the LSU Ag Center at Bruden

Fall is finally in the air and one of the fun places to go in Baton Rouge this time of year is the LSU Ag Center at Burden on Essen Lane.  Walking paths and the museum are always available, but this time of year is the most fun with the CORN MAZE.  Corn Maze Saturdays at the LSU AgCenter Botanic Gardens, Oct 10, 17 and 24, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. feature hay mountain climb, corn maze, hayride, giant slingshot and plenty of concessions to enjoy. Visitors may purchase corn dogs, popcorn and drinks from Burden Horticulture Society volunteers. Admission $7 per person, including concession tickets; children 3 and under free.

Fun Things to Do in Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Baton Rouge offers an abundance of activities for all ages.  Here is a sampling of things coming soon:

Friday, Oct 16  Toulouse-Lautrec Satellite Show Opening Reception from 6-8 at the Firehouse Galery  427 Laurel Street.  Free.  Refreshments

Friday-Saturday through out this month, The 13th Gate at 832 St Phillip St.  This gets you ready for Halloween with the haunts and frights at one of the scariest haunted house attractions i the country!! Opens at 6:30 p.m. Tickets start at $25.

Want something a little less scary?  Check out Boo at the Zoo!  BREC Baton Rouge Zoo at 3501 Thomas Road has a trick-or-treating extravaganza at the zoo.  Wear your costume, wanter throught the Hay Maze or make a memory at the Safari Snapshot photo both.  Regular admission.  9:30-4 p.m.

Saturday, Oct 17.  Red Stick Farmers Market - always a hit!  8 am.  501 Main Street.  Lots of fall vegetables along with Maggie Heyn Richardso will be cooking up seasonal recipes and discussing her book "Hungry for Louisiana"

Family Fun at the Zoo

Looking for some family fun this weekend?  The Baton Rouge Zoo kicks off Boo at the Zoo "merry not scary" trick or treat fun for the kids!  The event will be held Saturday and Sunday from 9:30 am to 4 pm and admission is $8.25 for adults and teens, $7.25 for seniors, $5.25 for children 2-12, and free for children 1 and younger.  The weather should be great so get out and enjoy! 

Family Entertainment

Looking for something fun the family with enjoy?  Mary Poppins begins playing at the Baton Rouge Little Theater tomorrow, Friday, for only $28 per ticket.  The play runs through Oct. 5th with Saturday and Sunday matinees.  Don't miss out!

Springtime Fun in Baton Rouge

Spring to me is always enhanced with FestForAll held in Downtown Baton Rouge this weekend (May 5th and 6th).  Food vendors and arts and crafts line North Boulevard plus music stages for a variety of performers are scattered around.  If you have never been, you are in for a treat!!!
