Enjoy a fun filled day at the Rural Life Museum at the Burden Center on Essen Lane while they celebrate Harvest Day!   From 9 am - 5 p.m. at 4650 Essen Lane.

The educational event interprets life in the 19th century rural Louisiana during the fall harvest.  Some of the activities will be living history demonstrations inlcuding plowing, syrup making, blacksmithing, soap and candle making, and open hearth cooking.  Visitors are allowed to participate in many of these activities!

And, as in an Louisiana event, food available for purchase!

There is also a Civil War re-enactment of the Battle of Baton Rouge today, Sunday, Sept 29, 2013 at 1 p.m.
